Drama - This is a fact-based drama about the schooling system is a bit made-
for-television movie in its straightforward style, but with big name
big screen dramatic actresses Viola Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal; all
of the other actors are secondary to that pair. The target audience
is older viewers, in particular women. Objectionable content is
minimal and therefore the film is family safe, but kids would not be
interested.

Roger EbertFull Review Average That's little surprise in a film where typecasting and color-coding makes it easy to predict which characters are good or bad.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average The film, inspired by true events, gets points for tackling the thorny problem of public school reform but loses them for glossing over the complexities.
Washington PostFull Review Poor But by that time, 'Won't Back Down' has become so didactic that viewers are likely to feel less uplifted than lectured.
NY PostFull Review Good Still, I haven't seen a timelier or more important film this year, and the film's passion for school choice could hardly be more warranted.
