Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Drama - While centering around a professional baseball player, there isn't too much actual baseball in this drama, which is more concerned with its inspirational Christian message. The only known face is Vivica A. Fox in a small supporting role, with the leads played by unknown actors. While there is a bit of alcohol use and some verbal references to abuse, it's no more intense than what is on network television, and there's virtually no language or violence, making this as family-friendly as was obviously intended.

Critic's Review Heading

Washington Post Full Review
Good ..."Home Run" is at its most unflinching -- and therefore, absorbing -- when it's off the diamond. The strongest scenes take place in dingy hotel rooms, on a deserted farm or in the rehab sessions where Brand and his fellow addicts open their hearts in search of forgiveness. It's during these moments that "Home Run" swings for the fences, and often connects.
