Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
Horror - While rated R, this period-set horror film is not graphically violent
on language, but it earns the rating for so consistently scary and
intense. Unlike a lot of modern horror, there is very little in the
way of elaborate effects. The film is much too scary and intense for
children. Fans of the lead actors will have plenty to savor here.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 42 moviegoers:
TEENS:Both the males and females LOVED "THE CONJURING." For this type of movie these are outstanding reviews. Horror/scary movies rarely have such a high percentage of very high reviews. Even more astonishing is the lack of any bad reviews.
ADULTS:Over half the males loved "The Conjuring." Only about a fifth rated it below average to poor. The female reviews show that just over half enjoyed it very much with about a third loving it. Most of the rest rated it good/average. Just a tiny percentage didn't enjoy it. For a horror movie, these male and female reviews are very good.
