Comedy Animated - This is a sequel to the popular animated comedy of 2011, but with the
main character going from villain to hero at the end of the first
film, this new one is even more gentle and family friendly, with
little of the first film's more edgy humor though there are some
mildly crude gags that earned the film a PG rating. Fans of the original
will definitely enjoy, and this is a family film in the best sense
with appeal to kids and adults.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good Despicable Me 2 provides a good bonding opportunity for parents and children with enough palatable elements to please members of both generations.
Roger EbertFull Review Good While I remain disappointed that the sequel gives me a subdued Gru and an uneven pace, I keep remembering things about 'Despicable Me 2' that make me smile.
USA TodayFull Review Average The sequel isn't nearly as imaginative or delightful as the original.
Entertainment WeeklyFull Review Good Once again, they manage to tickle moviegoers big and small in the way only cat videos usually do, and they very nearly run off with the sequel, 'Despicable Me 2.' But the sweet story holds its own.

take his place...
