Veteran sheriff Roy Pulsifer has spent his career with the legendary police force known as R.I.P.D. tracking monstrous souls disguised among the living as ordinary people. His mission? To arrest and bring to justice a special brand of outlaws trying to escape final judgment by hiding among the unsuspecting on Earth. Once the wise-cracking Roy is assigned former rising-star detective Nick Walker as his junior officer, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork. When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, two of the R.I.P.D.'s finest must restore the cosmic balance...or watch as the tunnel to the afterlife begins sending angry spirits the very wrong way.
Comedy Action Sci-Fi - While dealing with the issue of evil dead among the living, this is
not so much a horror film than a sci-fi buddy action comedy in the
vein of Men in Black. Although Jeff Bridges gets top billing,
the real lead here is Ryan Reynolds. Language, violence, and some
scary effects and imagery make the film inappropriate for kids.
PROFANITY: 17 S-words; a number of others. SEX/NUDITY: Fleeting non-sexual nudity. VIOLENCE: Fights and shootings between people and creatures. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: None. ACTION: Fights, chases, destruction. COMEDY: Banter, wisecracks, sight gags.
