Dr. Ryan Stone is a brilliant engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalski completely alone -- tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.
Thriller - This is a two-character outer space--but not science
fiction--thriller that's a big showcase for lead star Sandra Bullock
and director Alfonso Cuaron. George Clooney fans may be disappointed
by his smaller role. Language and violence is minimal but the film
may be too intense for young children.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 152 moviegoers:
These moviegoer reviews are very good but they certainly aren't great like the movie critic reviews.
CHILDREN: They all loved it.
TEENS: The male and female reviews are very similar - good but not great. Just over half indicated they loved "Gravity." Only a tiny percentage of the females rated it above average. Unfortunately, most of the rest rated it average, but quite a few didn't care for it and rated it "Poor." About 20% of the males rated it above average with another 20% rating it average to "Poor."
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: Less than half the males and females loved "Gravity." This is disappointing only because of the high expectations for this movie and cast. About half the males and females rated it "Very Good," which indicates a movie they enjoyed very much. About 20% rated it a bit low with a "Good/Average" review.
ADULTS: The males and females rated it about the same. Close to half loved "Gravity," with another 30% to 40% rating it above average. The remaining reviews indicate that some of you will be less than impressed with this movie and a small percentage of you will even dislike it.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth... and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.
But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
