Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Horror - This is a fairly faithful remake of the classic 1976 horror film of
the same name, and as such has a lot of violence and language that is
too intense for kids. There is no nudity unlike the original but
there is some sexual content. Fans of stars Chloe Grace Moretz and
Julianne Moore should enjoy.
PROFANITY: 6 F-words; 16 S-words; 4 GD's; a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief sex without nudity. VIOLENCE: Bloody killings of people and animals. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: None. ACTION: Fires and an explosion. COMEDY: None.
Roger EbertFull Review Good Still, there's a lot to like in this remake. It's sincerely interested in exploring the pain that its characters suffer and inflict.
USA TodayFull Review Average 'Carrie' remake is gorier, but not better, than original
Washington PostFull Review Good It's as affecting as drama as it is effective as horror. It wrenches, even as it unnerves.
NY PostFull Review Poor The new version of the endlessly imitated final scene? So utterly lame, you'll want to go out and watch the original on Netflix. Save yourself some time and money, and bypass this new 'Carrie' altogether.
