Storyline Heading
San Diego's top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy, returns to take New York's first 24-hour news channel by storm.
.
Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Comedy - This sequel to the 2004 period comedy offers more of the silly, mostly male-appeal silliness, this time set in the 1980s. All the main stars of the first film return though Christina Applegate's role is reduced. As with the first film, language and crude humor will be of caution to parents of young kids, as well as comic drug references.

Critic's Review Heading

Berardinelli, Internet Critic Full Review
Above Average It's just a shame that the humor couldn't be more consistent and that the editors couldn't have been more aggressive with their scissors.

Roger Ebert Full Review
Above Average Nothing in "Anchorman 2" is sustained, really.

USA Today Full Review
Good While it may not be as quotable as its predecessor, Anchorman 2 still is wacky fun.

Washington Post Full Review
Above Average Plenty of laughs and plenty of groans in much-hyped sequel.

OPINION OVERVIEW
The following is the original "What's Worth Watching" write-up for this movie.

Moviegoer Opinions:

Based on a theater exit polling of 50 moviegoers:
TEENS: Great Reviews from the males! Ninety-percent of them loved "Anchorman 2." As for the four females, one loved it, two rated it above average and one hated it.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: All the males either loved "Anchorman 2" or enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, there are only four female reviews and they are so mixed that they don't help much. They do show that three of the four enjoyed this movie, at least to some degree.
ADULTS: These are pretty good reviews from both the males and females, but not great. Will Ferrell's style of silly humor is clearly enjoyed most by younger moviegoers. Still, twenty-percent of the males and half the females loved "Anchorman 2." Another 40% of the males and 15% of the females rated it above average. The remaining reviews mostly indicate an "Average" movie (enjoyable but not memorable).
