Drama - This is a British costume drama based on a true story. The lead is
the fairly unknown Gugu Mbatha-Raw but actors such as Tom Wilkinson
and Tom Felton have strong supporting roles. Matthew Goode has a
tiny part. The film would be appropriate for older pre-teens and up
though there is some mature subject matter.

USA TodayFull Review Good It's a moving 18th-century costume drama with affecting romantic and historical elements
Entertainment WeeklyFull Review Very Good Belle subtly skewers the absurd rules and hypocrisies of class. But the real takeaway is Mbatha-Raw. She makes a case for why she ought to be a star.
NY PostFull Review Average Certainly it's an intriguing idea for a movie, but the execution is pretty tedious.
