Theodore is a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people.
Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating
system, which promises to be an intuitive and unique entity in its own right. Upon initiating it, he is
delighted to meet "Samantha," a bright, female voice who is insightful, sensitive and
surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into
an eventual love for each other.
Drama - This is a quirky sci-fi romantic drama. Fans of Joaquin Phoenix will
enjoy this showcase, while Scarlett Johansson fans should note she is
only seen and never heard. All other cast members have fairly small
roles. Sexual content, language, and mature themes make this
strictly for adults.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 20 moviegoers:
This movie didn't draw much of an audience so we weren't able to collect very many reviews.
TEENS: One male loved it and one rated it "below average," which, unfortunately, is not very helpful. Luckily, four of the five females enjoyed "Her" very much with four of them loving it.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: The one male loved "Her" as did all three of the ladies.
ADULTS: Two males loved it, one rated it "above average" but one rated it "below average." The younger females mostly enjoyed "Her" very much but only one of the adult females rated it as high as "above average." Two others felt it was only an "average" movie. The last two, unfortunately, rated it "below average."
