Based on the Biblical account of Noah's journey, a man suffers visions of an apocalyptic deluge and takes measures to protect his family from the coming flood.
Adventure - This effects-heavy drama/adventure is based on the Biblical tale of
Noah, but unlike most faith-themed films it asks hard but smart
questions about religious belief, ultimately coming to an
inspirational and hopeful message in a more honest way. Russell
Crowe is indeed the main star, but the other known actors such as
Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson have meaty dramatic parts. Some
violence, intense action, mild sensuality, and adult themes may be of
parents of young kids.
Roger EbertFull Review Good 'Noah' is a bizarre movie. It's a modern blockbuster, chock full of the visual and aural and narrative tics and cliches we expect from modern blockbusters...
USA TodayFull Review Above Average Noah is not by-the-book Bible story. Think of it as a visually mesmerizing sci-fi adventure saga loosely based on the book of Genesis.
Entertainment WeeklyFull Review Good Aronofsky has taken Noah's journey sincerely to heart, processed it through his own singular visual and moral imagination and come up with a narrative that feels deeply personal, broadly mythical and cannily commercial all at the same time.
NY PostFull Review Good Noah is probably the best performance Crowe has given in recent years

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 147 moviegoers:
Greatly Varying Reviews Across All Groups! It's highly unusual to see reviews vary so much in a big production movie with this level of star power. All the professional movie critics gave "Noah" high marks, which usually means it will have limited appeal to average moviegoers, which is certainly the case here. Approximately twenty-five percent of moviegoers, across all age and gender groups, rated "Noah" very high. Unfortunately, a very large percentage rated it either "average" or much lower. If you are considering this movie, be aware that the story is very loosely based on the Noah story from the bible. Christians will very likely be profoundly disappointed in this version of the story of Noah.
