Comedy - Jason Bateman's directing debut is a dark comedy aimed at adult
moviegoers. Fans of him will enjoy this lead showcase, and while the
film deals with children's spelling bees and has a major child
character, this is dark and crude material strictly not for kids
thanks to sexual content and non-stop language.

Based on a theater exit polling of 27 moviegoers:
TEENS: Three of the six males loved it and two more enjoyed it very much. The sixth one rated it "average." Only two of the eight females loved "Bad Words." Another three enjoyed it very much, rating it "above average." Two more rated it "average" and one rated it "below average."
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: The one male and one female each loved "Bad Words."
ADULTS: Very mixed reviews from the males. Three loved it, one rated it "above average" and one rated it "average." The last two didn't enjoy it and rated it very low. As for the females, two rated it "above average," one rated it average and one hated it.
