Comedy - This is a female-driven buddy road movie that will please fans of
stars Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon. While there is a fair
amount of crude humor as suggested by the advertising campaign, there
is also a surprising bit of warmth and heart. Other known stars such
as Kathy Bates, Sandra Oh, and Dan Aykroyd only turn up in small
roles. Constant language, suggestive humor, and adult themes make
the film not for kids.
PROFANITY: 24 F-words; over 30 S-words; 8 GD's; a number of others. SEX/NUDITY: Heard but unseen sex. VIOLENCE: A car hits a deer. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Frequent alcohol. ACTION: A couple of explosions. COMEDY: Banter; physical gags; drug, sex, and animal humor.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Average Tammy is a road trip movie and, like many road trip movies, it embraces a meandering, aimless tone.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average But while Tammy herself is a meandering mess with no real purpose in life, there's clearly a good heart beneath the disheveled exterior.
USA TodayFull Review Below Average Tammy's story is thin, cringe-inducing and, worst of all for a comedy, not funny. Jokes land with a thud and the pacing is leaden.
Entertainment WeeklyFull Review Good But because Tammy is cowritten and played by Melissa McCarthy, it's a broad, helter-skelter farce whose best bits hinge almost entirely on the considerable charms of its star.

Tammy (McCarthy) is having a bad day. She's totaled her clunker car, gotten
fired from her thankless job at a greasy burger joint, and instead of finding
comfort at home, finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbor in her
It's time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she's broke and
without wheels. The worse news is her grandma, Pearl (Sarandon), is her only

escape Tammy had in mind. But on the road, with grandma riding shot gun, it may
be just what Tammy needs.
