Both man and myth, Hercules leads a band of mercenaries to help end a bloody civil war in the land of Thrace and return the rightful king to his throne. A tormented soul from birth, Hercules has the strength of a God but feels the suffering of a human.
Action Adventure - This is a period action film based on the Greek myth. Fans of star
Dwayne Johnson's action films will enjoy, and all other actors come
secondary to him. There are a number of battle and fight scenes that
have minimal blood but may be too intense for young children.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 114 moviegoers:
CHILDREN: Great Reviews! They all loved "Hercules."
TEENS: Nearly all the males and two-thirds of the females loved "Hercules." Only a very small percentage of the males and 18% of the females rated it as low as "good/average." No one disliked it (very important).
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: The male and female reviews are very similar, about half indicated that they loved "Hercules." Another 25 to 30 percent rated it "above average," which is a high review. About 20% of both the males and females felt it was a "good/average" movie, which is a bit low but certainly not bad. Equally important, no one gave "Hercules" a bad review.
ADULTS: The male reviews are very good, but not quite great. Half indicated that they loved "Hercules," but a full 30% only rated it "good/average," which is a bit disappointing, but not bad. The remaining 20% rated it "above average," which is great.
The ladies enjoyed The Rock, I mean "Hercules," more than the guys. Three-quarters of them loved "Hercules." About 10% more rated it "above average." There were about 18% who felt it was just a "good/average" movie.
