Action Adventure Sci-Fi - Like all previous Marvel movies, this is a superhero adventure film,
but this is more comedic in tone than most. Fans of stars Chris
Pratt and Zoe Saldana will enjoy though this is more of an ensemble
picture. The most known names in the cast, Vin Diesel and Bradley
Cooper, only provide voices for CGI characters, and veterans such as
Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, and Benicio Del Toro only have very
small supporting parts. Some violence, creatures, and mild language
and suggestive humor may be of concern to parents of young children.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good Guardians of the Galaxy is solid summer fun - not the mammoth epic we have come to expect from each new Marvel release, but a welcome entry into a moribund movie season.
Roger EbertFull Review Good A soundtrack the film's characters appreciate as much as the audience will, which is part of the whole point.
USA TodayFull Review Good No need to be a sci-fi nerd or a comic book geek to enjoy it, the witty banter and charismatic characters will delight general audiences.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 231 moviegoers:
We were able to collect lots of reviews for this movie and they clearly show that A VERY LARGE PERCENTAGE LOVED "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY." Each group had a small percentage who felt this was only an "average" movie, but this is common for virtually every movie. Since a review of "average" isn't a bad review (it indicates an enjoyable movie but nothing special or memorable), you're almost guaranteed to enjoy "Guardians of the Galaxy" very much.

To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand- with the galaxy's fate in the balance.
