Two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party and become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted "heroes" get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.
Action Comedy - This is an often crude and raunchy action comedy aimed at young
adults, particularly males. A starring vehicle for TV's New
Girl co-stars Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr., the other
familiar faces in the cast such as Nina Dobrev and especially Andy
Garcia have much smaller roles. Language, violence, and raunchy
humor make the film inappropriate for kids.
PROFANITY: 28 F-words; over 30 S-words; 2 GD's; many others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief non-sexual nudity. VIOLENCE: Fights and shootings with blood. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Alcohol and drug use. ACTION: Fights and chases. COMEDY: Constant banter and wisecracks; physical gags; raunchy humor.
Roger EbertFull Review Below Average 'Let's Be Cops' doesn't take place in the real world. It's a comedy universe without danger or repercussions. Worst of all, it simply doesn't have the laughs to make the zany approach feel like the right one.
Entertainment WeeklyFull Review Terrible If Let's Be Cops were content to be simply an unfunny genre exercise, it would be easy to dismiss it and move on. But the sting of astoundingly ill-advised sexism and homophobia is harder to shake:...
NY PostFull Review Very Poor The only truly lethal weapons in the criminally unfunny action comedy 'Let's Be Cops' are the lame script, putrid direction and pair of sitcom stars mugging nonstop in frantic pursuit of laughs that have fled over the state line.
