Charlie Brown, the world's most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron.
Animated Adventure Comedy - While in 3D and computer animated, this feature adaptation of the
beloved comic strip is very much in line with the innocent, light,
yet sometimes somber tone of both the original comic strip and the
many television specials over the years. There is nothing in the way
of objectionable content aside from some harmless comic falls and
hits, and is thus all-ages appropriate from young to old.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good For children, enjoyment begins with the familiar characters and their amusing antics. For adults, appreciation occurs.....because this production stimulates warm memories of long-ago tender days. And that means everyone enjoying The Peanuts Movie is doing so for similar reasons regardless of physical age.
Roger EbertFull Review Average It's disappointing and actually kind of cynical in its unwillingness to try anything even vaguely innovative with these beloved characters. It's all completely charming until you realize very quickly that there isn't much going on here besides a wallow in nostalgia with little narrative drive.
USA TodayFull Review Good Peanuts is all about simplicity, and what the plot lacks in nuance and complexity is made up for with relatable characters whom people have spent a lifetime watching. You're in a good movie, Charlie Brown!
NY PostFull Review Average Good grief! This painfully sincere animated feature seems aimed less at contemporary kids than nostalgic adults... The new feature is mostly a series of curated (by a team including Schulz's son and grandson) greatest-hits moments...
