Storyline Heading
A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983).
.
Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Action Adventure Fantasy - This is the seventh installment of the incredibly popular science fiction action series. Of the returning stars, Harrison Ford has the biggest role, with the true lead here being newcomer Daisy Ridley--thus giving the film a lot more female appeal. Carrie Fisher has a much smaller role, and Mark Hamill only has a cameo. While the violence and action is largely bloodless, there are some intense moments that some parents of very young children may find too strong, but on the whole families with pre-teens and up will generally find this to be safe viewing.

Berardinelli, Internet Critic Full Review
Good It's a good start to a new trilogy but hardly the hoped-for masterpiece.

Roger Ebert Full Review
Very Good This new one, set 30 years after the events of 'Return of the Jedi,' is funny, touching, and surprisingly light-footed.

USA Today Full Review
Excellent J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens returns the iconic sci-fi franchise to a glorious place that hasn't been seen since Ewoks danced off into victory in Return of the Jedi 32 years ago

Rolling Stone Full Review
Very Good It's everything the kid in us goes to the movies for — marvelous adventure that leaves us surprised, scared and euphoric.
