After the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances, all leaders of the Western world must attend his funeral. But what starts out as the most protected event on earth, turns into a deadly plot to kill the world's most powerful leaders and unleash a terrifying vision of the future.
Action Crime Thriller - Like the first film, Olympus Has Fallen, this is a violent,
over-the-top action film aimed at male moviegoers. Most of the cast
from the first returns, but as with the first film the most prominent
roles belong to Aaron Eckhart and especially Gerard Butler. Language
and constant violence make the film not for kids.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Above Average As action-thrillers go, this one provides what the previews tease. Maybe that's enough for an evening's mindless, throw-away entertainment, but I can't help but be disappointed that the filmmakers couldn't have brought something more inventive to a genre that too often relies on worn-out tropes.
Roger EbertFull Review Below Average ...a horrible and wildly unnecessary follow-up that might actually be worse than its predecessor. Unless you have some insane desire to see what will surely go down as one of the very worst films of 2016, you would be far better served staying at home and finally giving "White House Down” a look.
NY PostFull Review Terrible Racist, stupid and boasting cheesy effects that wouldn't pass muster on basic cable... If you are wondering why the bad guys would fire endless rounds of ammunition at — as well as downing a helicopter and wrecking two vehicles carrying — a president they are trying to capture, this probably isn't the movie for you.
Slant MagazineFull Review Average London Has Fallen is content to dumbly relish in the inanity of Mike's rampage. ...the film mostly succeeds at advancing Mike's improbable yet largely singular survival as a symbol of American triumphalism.
