When Alice wakes up in Wonderland she must travel through a mysterious new world to retrieve a magical scepter that can stop the evil Lord of Time before he turns forward the clock and turns Wonderland into a barren, lifeless old world. With the help of some new friends, Alice must also uncover an evil plot to put the Queen of Hearts back on the throne.
Adventure Fantasy - Like the first film, this is an effects-heavy fantasy adventure aimed
at kids and the entire family. Also like the first film, Johnny Depp
and Anne Hathaway receive top billing, but the real lead is Mia
Wasikowska as Alice. While there is no bloodshed nor language, there
are some scary moments that might be too intense for the youngest

PROFANITY: None. SEX/NUDITY: None. VIOLENCE: Some hits and falls, sometimes for laughs. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Very brief alcohol. ACTION: Chases, fires, combat on the sea. COMEDY: Silly banter, wisecracks, sight gags, slapstick.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Below Average Visually, Alice through the Looking Glass has its moments but pretty backgrounds and clever special effects can't obscure the disappointment resulting from a half-baked script and a miscast villain.
Roger EbertFull Review Terrible This is not artistry. It's con artistry.
USA TodayFull Review Below Average It's time to retire the adventures of 'Alice'
NY PostFull Review Above Average So the screenplay (by Linda Woolverton) isn't exactly heaving with brilliant ideas, but it works well enough as a blank canvas against which the special-effects team goes bonkers.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 56 moviegoers:
I love it when the professional movie critics are SO WRONG! The four reviews we collected ranged from "terrible" to "above average," with most not liking Alice. As you can see below, moviegoers had a totally different opinion.
GREAT REVIEWS! All ages, both males and females, LOVED "ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS." Only a relatively small percentage rated it as low as "average." Equally important is that no one disliked this movie so your probability of enjoying it, at least to some degree, is very high.
