A talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City's Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond.
Action Adventure Fantasy - As with all films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this is an
effects-heavy superhero action-adventure, with even more effects
this time due to the magic theme. The action scenes have only
moderate bloodshed but could be too intense for very young children.
Fans of the stars, especially Benedict Cumberbatch, should be pleased
though Rachel McAdams's screen time is limited.

PROFANITY: 2 S-words; very few others. SEX/NUDITY: None. VIOLENCE: Fights and surgeries with moderate blood. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: None. ACTION: Fights, chases, destruction. COMEDY: Some wisecracks and banter.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good ...although the comic book tropes are all in place, the acting, tone, and visual effects keep them from becoming tedious. This is yet another solid building block in the foundation to Marvel's ever-expanding superhero fortress.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average ..."Doctor Strange” feels fresh. It crackles with energy, moving from one plot point to the next, not wasting any moment. The visuals are electrifying and CGI is used very well to build a world far different than anything else we've seen in superhero adaptations recently.
USA TodayFull Review Good Doctor Strange also exhibits a needed sense of humor to balance the world-threatening nature of it all. Some of the goofier gags fall flat but scenes between Strange and hard-nosed librarian/drill sergeant Wong (Benedict Wong) sparkle.
NY PostFull Review Good With a mischievous, metaphysical flourish, "Doctor Strange” administers some much-needed CPR to the flagging superhero genre. It doesn't reinvent the wheel....but it's a heck of a lot more fun than I've had at a Marvel movie lately.
