Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Action Adventure Sci-Fi - While this is another science fiction action-adventure like the other films in the STAR WARS franchise, this is the first not to follow the main storyline of the Skywalker family, and it takes place right before the original 1977 film. As such, the cast is made up entirely of new characters and actors, with Felicity Jones and Diego Luna being the leads. There is a bit more action and mayhem than in other STAR WARS films, but as usual the violence is bloodless, and there is no foul language. That said, there may be some moments considered too intense and disturbing for young kids, especially its somewhat downbeat conclusion.

Critic's Review Heading

Roger Ebert Full Review
Very Good ...manages to succeed as both super-nerdy fan service and the first entry since the 1977 original that will satisfy people who have never seen a "Star Wars" film. "Rogue One" is so devoted to its multilayered, fast-moving plot that it can't afford to give its characters the breathing space they need to come across as a great team...

USA Today Full Review
Above Average Fortunately, even an underwhelming Star Wars is a pretty decent Star Wars, but Rogue One misses a real chance to turn the familiar into something remarkable. ...one of the saga's best space battles in the superb, film-saving third act and takes the action to land for realistic ground-and-pound warfare.

NY Post Full Review
Good ...this is a worthy entry in the franchise, from its formidable heroine (Felicity Jones) to its canny blend of innovation and nostalgia, of human-scale drama and judicious special effects. Its last 10 minutes are spectacular and dark, with a final flourish that should give any "Star Wars” fan goose bumps...

Sorry, we couldn't collect reviews because Disney had a restriction for theaters that wouldn't allow anyone to see the movie for free within the first two weeks, which included our movie review collection volunteers.
