Storyline Heading
In the world of political power-brokers, Sloane is the most sought after and formidable lobbyist in D.C. Known equally for her cunning and her track record of success, she has always done whatever is required to win. But when she takes on the most powerful opponent of her career, she finds that winning may come at too high a price.

Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Drama Thriller - This dramatic thriller is basically a one-woman show for star Jessica Chastain, and her fans should definitely be pleased, with all other recognizable cast members such as Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and John Lithgow having distinctly supporting roles. Language, sexual content, and adult subject matter make the film not for kids.

Critic's Review Heading

Berardinelli, Internet Critic Full Review
Good As a dramatic thriller, it does what it needs to do to keep the audience involved and interested, even if some of its most theatrical tricks and twists are more the products of a writer's invention than actual Washington D.C. activities.

Roger Ebert Full Review
Above Average The film is not so much tone-deaf as old-fashioned, emerging from a more innocent time (say, three weeks ago) when "politics as usual" actually had some meaning. When "Miss Sloane" really works is in the scenes when Miss Sloane is by herself (not coincidentally, the scenes with very little dialogue).

NY Post Full Review
Poor Heavy-handed message movies don't come more harrumphing than "Miss Sloane,” a clunky dramatization of the gun-control argument liberals still don't understand is being conducted solely among themselves.

Slant Magazine Full Review
Above Average Miss Sloane's enigmatic nature holds one's interest throughout, even as it veers into pat moralism. ... Jessica Chastain, who brings to the role of Elizabeth Sloane the same granitic strength and subtle vulnerability that distinguished her performance as Maya...

OPINION OVERVIEW
The following is the original "What's Worth Watching" write-up for this movie.

Moviegoer Opinions:

Based on a theater exit polling of 11 moviegoers:
Unfortunately, this movie didn't draw much of an audience so we were able to only collect these few reviews.
TEENS: None
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: One female loved it and one rated it "below average," which isn't any help.
ADULTS: Three of the four males and four of the five females loved "Miss Sloane." And, the remaining review was "average," which indicates a movie they enjoyed, but there wasn't anything special or memorable about it.
