While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her.
Drama Romantic - Like the first film in the series, Fifty Shades of Grey, this
is a sexually explicit drama aimed at women. Constant sex, including
kinky situations with hitting and various instruments involved,
nudity, language, and some violence make the film
strictly for adults only.
PROFANITY: 10 F-words; 4 S-words; 1 GD; a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Explicit sex with nudity. VIOLENCE: A slap. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some tobacco and constant alcohol. ACTION: None. COMEDY: Occasional comic lines.
Roger EbertFull Review Average "Fifty Shades Darker” may wear leather and chains, but it's still a retro bore. ...more interested in the conventional narrative of a damaged man terrified of intimacy and a loving woman waiting for him to transform into the wonderful boyfriend that she knows is inside of him.
USA TodayFull Review Poor There are a lot of negative things to be said about Fifty Shades Darker. But it does impress in one sense: The erotica lite sequel somehow manages to be worse than the stupefyingly bad Fifty Shades of Grey.
Rolling StoneFull Review Very Poor ...what an incredibly, indelibly idiotic movie. ...it's a beast of roaring stupidity that devours everything in its path... This softcore swill is hardcore awful.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 56 moviegoers:
Don't believe the low reviews provided by professional movie critics! These are great reviews from moviegoers. It's very unusual to see reviews this high for this type of movie. The reviews typically vary widely for strong sexual movies. It's clear that moviegoers, mostly, loved "Fifty Shades Darker." The ladies enjoyed it the most with two-thirds, or better, indicating that they loved it. The male reviews are also quite good with just a small percentage rating it as low as "average."
