Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician with her own plan to win.
Animated Adventure Comedy - Like the previous films in the series, this is an animated
adventure/comedy centered around car characters, and this one takes
the focus back to that of the first film: auto racing and the
character of Lightning McQueen. Unlike most Pixar productions, as
with the first two films in the series, this film skews more toward
young children, with little to no of the more complex,
adult-appealing wit of many of their other films. But fans of this
specific series will definitely enjoy, and it's safe viewing for kids
of any age.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average Despite its lack of originality, as well as its lackadaisical storytelling and world building, it satisfies in that amiably weird way that only a "Cars" film can. It's not a spoiler to say that this film has a happy ending, but to its credit, for all its clichés, it doesn't give us the ending we expect.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average While still not a Pixar classic by any stretch, Lightning McQueen and his four-wheeled bunch at least get in the right lane finally with the surprisingly deep Cars 3, which amounts to Rocky IV with anthropomorphic automobiles.
Rolling StoneFull Review Good ...when we say that Cars 3 is easily the best entry of the bunch, feel free to take it as faint praise. There's an emotional resonance to this story about growing old, chasing glory days and the joy of passing the baton that leaves the other two films choking on its digitally rendered dust.
Slant MagazineFull Review Average ...while Cars 3 may be the least objectionable entry in this series to date, it never hits the bittersweet emotional highs of films like Up and Toy Story 3. Heavy on training montages and intergenerational torch passing, Cars 3 is an old-fashioned sports film at heart.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 50 moviegoers:
GREAT REVIEWS FROM ALL AGES! Youngsters and their parents mostly loved "Cars 3." Some of the teen and twentysomething females weren't real impressed, which is understandable. With no one rating it lower than "average," and lots of very high reviews, "CARS 3" IS A GREAT FAMILY MOVIE!
