Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok-the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization-at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger-the Incredible Hulk!
Action Adventure Sci-Fi - The third solo film for the comic book superhero is a lot more
comedic than the previous two. Fans of returning stars Chris
Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will have plenty to enjoy though
other returning stars such as Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba
don't have as much screen time as in previous films. Hulk fans
will enjoy Mark Ruffalo's presence here, and Cate Blanchett and
Jeff Goldblum have plenty of screen time as the main villains of
the film. Some profanity, some mildly suggestive humor, and some
intense action violence may make the film of caution to parents
of young children.

PROFANITY: 2 S-words; a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief nonsexual nudity. VIOLENCE: Numerous fights between people and other creatures, often with super powers. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some alcohol. ACTION: Fights, battles, chases, explosions, destruction. COMEDY: Constant silly banter, wisecracks, slapstick, sight gags, sometimes mildly raunchy.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Above Average ...fitfully entertaining, too long, and mostly forgettable. Comic book fans (especially those who live and die with Marvel and have removed the letters "D” and "C” from their alphabet) will probably adore what Thor: Ragnarok has to offer. Others may see this as a passable diversion while uttering things like "meh” on the way out.
Roger EbertFull Review Good Hemsworth's charisma holds "Thor: Ragnarok” together whenever it threatens to spin apart, which unfortunately is often. This is a close-but-no-cigar movie, but so enjoyable for the most part, and so modest in its aims, that its disappointments aren't devastating. I'd watch the first 90 minutes again anytime.
USA TodayFull Review Good It's zany to a fault, though: The adventure leans hard into the campy Flash Gordon vibe and slapstick humor, so much so that when the third act save-the-world stuff comes, it doesn't feel completely earned.
NY PostFull Review Good It's witty, it's weird and it goes against decades of bloated, overserious comics fare. Every superhero movie must include at least one epic battle. "Thor: Ragnarok” is full of them... Thor and Hulk's reunion is a lot of fun...

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 205 moviegoers:
FANTASTIC REVIEWS! All ages, both males and females, LOVED "THOR RAGNAROK." Such a high percentage of "Fantastic" and "Excellent" reviews with such a low percentage of "average" reviews is very uncommon and clearly indicates a MUST SEE MOVIE (but you already knew that).
