After Ferdinand, a bull with a big heart, is mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure.
Animated Adventure Comedy - This is an animated comedy aimed at the whole family, especially
kids. Fans of John Cena and Kate McKinnon will enjoy their change
of pace voice roles here. Other recognizable names in the voice
cast such as Gina Rodriguez and Anthony Anderson have much smaller
supporting roles. The PG rating is only for some extremely mild
language and comic moments of mild violence, so most families will
find this to be safe for young kids.
PROFANITY: 3 miscellaneous profanities. SEX/NUDITY: None. VIOLENCE: Fights between bulls and people; hits and falls played for laughs. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: None. ACTION: Chases and fights involving bulls and other animals. COMEDY: Silly banter, slapstick, sight gags, largely involving animals.
Roger EbertFull Review Good "Ferdinand” comes as a mostly pleasant surprise in a year that has produced a lack of stellar animated outings and stands in stark contrast to less savory aspects of "The Boss Baby” and "The LEGO Batman Movie.”
Slant MagazineFull Review Average Sadly, director Carlos Saldana and the screenwriters tasked with blowing out Leaf's tale into a feature-length attraction opt out of giving Ferdinand any characteristics that would justify his being taken as a crusader for individuality.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 68 moviegoers:
GREAT REVIEWS! All ages, both males and females, LOVED "FERDINAND." It's rare to see such a high percentage of "Fantastic" and "Excellent" reviews from adults for an animated children's film. This would make a GREAT FAMILY FILM FOR THE HOLIDAYS! DON'T MISS IT!
