A young elephant, whose oversized ears enable him to fly, helps save a struggling circus, but when the circus plans a new venture, Dumbo and his friends discover dark secrets beneath its shiny veneer.
Fantasy - This is a live action remake of the classic Disney animated feature,
and as such is aimed at the whole family. Fans of director Tim
Burton may be disappointed that he reins in his more bizarre
impulses, especially as compared to his remake of Alice in
Wonderland. Young kids may be upset by scenes of elephants in
danger, but on the whole parents will find this safe viewing for
kids. Colin Farrell and Danny DeVito have the most prominent roles
in the human cast.
PROFANITY: 1 miscellaneous profanity. SEX/NUDITY: None. VIOLENCE: Pushes, kicks, and falls with people and animals; no blood. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: None. ACTION: Chases with people and animals; a big fire. COMEDY: Some wisecracks; sight and physical gags with animals.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good ...a perfectly adequate family film. It fills a niche and does so nicely with a style and approach determined to recall the simple pleasures of the Disney live-action films that have largely become passé in today's era.
Roger EbertFull Review Average ...feels like one of the big-eared baby elephant's early flights: It's adorable and earnest but it causes a lot of commotion, and it only sporadically, haltingly soars. There's simultaneously too much going on here and not enough.
USA TodayFull Review Good ...a visually sumptuous effort with wondrous sights, though its character development falls short of those same heights. When he soars, so does the movie, and letting Burton be Burton lends needed freshness to a tale that could use it.
NY PostFull Review Good ...the plot is roughly the same as in the cartoon, but 45 minutes longer thanks to its new homo sapiens and some husky-voiced villainy provided by Michael Keaton. The director includes all the right parts of the original "Dumbo” — the iconic song "Baby Mine,” the elephant jetting off a burning building — and discards the trash.

OUTSTANDING REVIEWS! All ages, both males and females, LOVED "DUMBO." It's very unusual to see so many very high reviews with virtually no even slightly low reviews. This is a movie you and your family DO NOT WANT TO MISS!
