Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora for her most dangerous adventure ever - High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots, Diego, a mysterious jungle inhabitant, and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
Adventure - This is a live action family comedy/adventure based on the popular animated television series Dora the Explorer. While aimed at a kid and family audience, and most parents would find this safe viewing for their children, there are some action scenes that may be too intense for the very young. The known adult stars in the cast such as Eugenio Derbez, Eva Longoria, and Michael Pena have supporting roles to young lead Isabela Moner.

Roger EbertFull Review Good I am here to tell you (parents) that you will be shockingly entertained. "Dora and the Lost City of Gold” manages to ride a fine line between being true to the characters and conventions of the series and affectionately skewering them.
NY PostFull Review Good Disney, take note: This is how to do a winning live-action update of a cartoon. ...I can't remember when I've laughed out loud this much in a kids' movie. You'd never know any of this quirky stuff from the trailer, which portrays "Dora” as a generic kiddie action flick.
