Critic's Review Heading

Roger Ebert Full Review
Average ...lacks the personality to distinguish it from superior animated films that cover most of the same ground. ...the script is stunningly flat in terms of entertainment value. ...I just wanted to laugh or smile at one line of dialogue, and I never did.

NY Post Full Review
Good ...an adorable, not at all abominable creature in a gorgeously animated story. There's plenty of physical humor here to amuse younger viewers...while Culton's use of music, the yeti's expressive face and Yi's connection to her late father should resonate with older ones.

Rolling Stone Full Review
Average ...feels a little like the same old animated song-and-dance. ...good family fun as far it goes. It also could have gone further. Abominable has all the ingredients to reach the heights, but the play-it-safe script keeps it slipping and sliding at a far distance from the summit.

Slant Magazine Full Review
Above Average Abominable Is Both Poignant Tale of Grief and Commodity Fetish. The second half's series of hollow visual spectacles foreground the film as a corporate product. ...a fine first act lays down a groundwork of emotional realism that elevates what might otherwise be taken as just another kid's movie.
