The sheer number of cast members and extras required by the story was a challenge to costume designer Aggie Guerard Rodgers and her team. "We had sixty-plus cast members, with about 300 wardrobe changes," recalls Rodgers. "Add to that the approximately 9,000 extras we fitted over the course of the film, and it was quite a production."
Rodgers and her team spent hours watching concert tapes from the '80s to reacquaint themselves with the clothes worn by rockers and audiences during that time.
"We designed Mark Wahlberg's black leather outfit with a dragon design on the sleeve," says Rodgers. "Even though fake leather was beginning to make an appearance.
