DETAILED STORYLINE
ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE "SPRUNG"...

Brandy, (TISHA CAMPBELL) a law clerk at a prestigious downtown law firm with aspirations of becoming a criminal attorney, has had her share of romantic misses. Unlike her best friend Adina, (PAULA JAI PARKER) who has an unquenchable thirst for both the finer things and men in life, Brandy has grown weary of the dating scene and its unlasting effects. In an effort to bring Brandy out of her self-imposed exile, Adina invites her to a sorority alumni dance that promises to be teeming with eligible bachelors. Shortly after they arrive, both are ready to declare the evening a bust, thanks to Adina's computer like scanning skills of the male attendees. That is, until running buddies Montel, (RUSTY CUNDIEFF) an aspiring photographer, and Clyde, (JOE TORRY) manager of fast food franchise, hit the scene. The self-appointed professor of How to be a Player 101, Clyde reels Adina in for the kill, leaving Brandy and Montel behind to fend for themselves. As their evening of heated passion unfolds, Adina soon realizes that Clyde is more player than she bargained for, teaching them both a valuable but hilarious lesson about putting the cart before the horse. In the meantime, Brandy and Montel appear to have found their soulmates in each other and a few weeks later decide to move in together. Mortified by their decision, and at the thought of suffering each other's company a moment longer, Clyde and Adina devise several side-splitting schemes to break up the newly joined pair, rationalizing it's for their own good. Each of the schemes fail miserably until Clyde summons' an old flame of Montel's, which finally delivers the fatal blow to the once sprung twosome. At first proud of their destructive handiwork, Clyde and Adina soon find themselves riddled with guilt once they witness Brandy and Montel's deep funk. Determined to reunite the lovelorn duo, Clyde and Adina once again conspire, this time with results that are sure to provoke hi-fives all around.
